Foot and ankle orthosis AM-OSS-03
An ankle sprain is one of the most common ankle injuries. If the ankle swells rapidly and is accompanied by sharp pain, the ligaments may be torn. There are several types of ankle sprains. Ankle inversion is the most common and occurs when the ankle rolls outward and the foot turns inward, stretching or tearing the outer ligaments. Ankle eversion, less common, occurs when the ankle rolls inward and the foot turns outward, damaging the inner ligaments. Once an ankle has been sprained, there is a high risk of recurrence. To prevent further injury, reduce instability, and relieve pain post-trauma, ankle braces are used.
